Absolut Club Kids & Swedish Amazons- The House of Field/Keith Haring Party at The Hudson.
In all of the madness that is Fashion Week in New York I will say one of the events I have enjoyed the most thus far was The Patricia Field/Keith Haring event at the Hudson Hotel. I was lucky enough to be accompanied by the Absolut crew (I think they only hire extremely sweet and good looking Swedish amazons that double as models). None the less I had no problem being eclipsed by an entourage of gorgeous women as it made it that much easier to take advantage of the gratis Absolut vodka.
Somewhere between being flanked by the likes of Kelly Osborne to Kenny Kenny (ok, they weren’t flanking me as much as I was paparazzing them) I realized it had been a long time since I was in such a large club venue. New York (perhaps because of the recession or because of the sky-rocking price on prime real-estate) has long since shied away from mega clubs and opted for the much more economical lounge ever since. So it was to my pleasant surprise to see a multi-level venue make a comeback with another unexpected aspect - the return of the club kid.
These long since forgotten style self expressionists were all over the dance floor, stage and VIP balcony. For a moment I couldn’t tell if I was in a time warp revisiting Limelight from the 1990’s or if this was truly NYC 2010. I had also missed the warm and loving atmosphere that fashion, club kids, and great music inspire (or was it all that peach flavored Absolut Vodka I drank?) either was it was a wonderful evening.
